Los Alcazares

A beautiful and relatively unspoilt coastal town not far from San Javier airport.  Modern and yet peaceful with a good variety of restaurants and shops.  The beach here is clean and it edges the Mar Menor, a huge saltwater lagoon, so the water is shallow with no tides.  You can also walk (or cycle) along the beach front path for a considerable distance in each direction, where you will come across some lovely bars and cafe's.

La Zenia

Between San Javier and Torreveja, La Zenia and Cabo Roig has a good choice of restaurants and bars catering for a variety of international cuisines and tastes.  The beach at La Zenia is clean and it edges the Mediterranean Sea. There are sun loungers and parasols to hire in high season, a small childrens play park and a huge restaurant so everything you need for a day on the beach. The only pain is the parking, which is free, but limited, so get there early!

Santiago De La Ribera

Just North up the coast from Los Alcazares, Santiago is a typically bustling Spanish beach resort, which gets extremely busy in the Summer months. As you would expect, clean beaches and promenade cafes. It also edges the Mar Menor, so again, no tides and clear shallow water. Parking is virtually non existent, so if you go by car expect a short walk from somewhere in town.
